| Did it with Grays as my second 14er. So many people on the summit, I could not sit down. Next time will be Kelso ridge. | ||

| Harry sugar snow covering most rock including the knife edge. Spent lots of time uncovering holds and trying to kick steps into powder covered scree, not a lot of fun. Could have used snowshoes for decent, lots of post holing. summit all to ourselves. Eight hours for a four hour trip. | |

| There was a bit of snow on Grays but passble without gear. There was a big dump the next day so it is probably different now. 2:45 up to Grays, 1:00 across saddle to Torreys, 2:00 down. | ||

| Fog on the ridge between Grays and Torreys made route-finding tougher, but we just stayed on the ridge and were fine. Sliding down the snow on the way down was a rush! | |

| Good winter climb. No avy hazards except for the approach. Found it easier to descent the ascent route than to go down the regular route due to avy conditions. | |

| A nice, close, easy peak to climb. Not isolated like some, but boasts an impressive view. Saw some mountain goats not but 10 yards off the trail--they didn't seem too worried about us. If only it were hunting season. | |

| This was a super fun route! I slept in my pickup at the TH Friday night and decided to get going at 5 am as I wasn't sleeping terribly well. The sun had yet to rise as I gained the saddle between Torrey's and Kelso; but the remaining light from the night's full moon lit the way. Perhaps I did not take the time to find the easiest way around a couple of the initial cruxes because the 'knife edge' section seemed a bit anticlimatic. It's position is fantastic though-I sat straddling the ridge just before the white block, took some photos and watched the sunrise for several minutes before heading on. How serene, and within sight of I-70, go figure... The rest of the hike was no less spectacular, visually, though physically mundane as I headed over to Grays and back to the TH via the main trail. Highly reccommended!! | |

| Climbed Grays first and then traversed to Torreys. Very well maintained trail with lots of signs. Many other hikers for a Monday. Must be really busy on a summer weekend. | |

| We started at around 6:30 and summitted around 9:00 AM. Beautiful day, no clouds, but it was rather windy. We just managed to beat the crowds which began pouring up the slopes as we descended. Great climb! | |
