I couldn't make it up Boundary without crossing over to Montgomery: two summits in two different states sounds cool. Staying on the ridge would have been much easier than circling around on the East side. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to traverse.
Got to the top of boundary and the clouds were looking a little dark. Decided to go over to Montgomery and when I topped out there was lightning to my south and west closing in fast. Took an emergency route down that skipped going back over boundary on the way back

fun ridge traverse from Boundary Pk, NV. We skirted some of the ridgeline on the way over, finding some loose, easy choss. We followed closer to the ridge on the return, which was more stable and more enjoyable -- with better views.
We set up camp in the snow on a saddle at 12,000ft north of Boundary Peak. The next day we summited Boundary Peak (NV), then Montgomery Peak (CA). Deep, soft snow on the traverse. Going from one peak to the other took us a little over 1h 30min.
