Traversing to the Chute

Summitted Hood 6/9/21 by old chute. Went up the hogs back, traversed over and up to the old chute. It was early on a cold day the upper chute was hard compacted snow and ice. There were obvious steps up the chute. I used my ice axe to improve some of the steps. On the way down I wished I had done more. No place to plant an ice axe vertically but the pick and crampon placements were solid. There's two T slots cut in the ice at the top of the chute so a large group could set up a belay.
