trip reports that awokes nice momories to me! Great pictures! It would be nice to draw a little map where exactly your trip has passed - esp. in the Sarapo-Jurau-area that is not part of most organized treks.
After looking at those those pictures, I have come to the conclusion that the Peruvian Andes (and to be more specific, the Cordillera Huayhuash) might be the most spectacular mountains I have ever seen.
Nice work Howie. How do you get to travel so much you old bastard? BTW Sonya might be the best wife in the world in your eyes but let me tell ya she has a rival :-)
I've always wanted to do this trek, and now I still want to do it even more! I went to Huaraz and the Cordillera Blanca back in 1998 and it completely changed my life, and I imagine the Huayhuash would do the same. Plus, that trip cured me of my desires to climb big, snowy peaks, and invigorated my desire to do some real trekking, like you did. Nice job!
Reading your words and seeing your pictures make us think strongly about going there, when we are in South America next year.
Any chance you can provide a map of your trek to give a rough idea of the trip and places where you slept, etc ?

I'm planning on drawing up a little map, but it might have to wait a while (it's back to school this week!)
Cheers,
