great ...

trip reports that awokes nice momories to me! Great pictures! It would be nice to draw a little map where exactly your trip has passed - esp. in the Sarapo-Jurau-area that is not part of most organized treks.

Re: great ...

Thanks Mathias!
I'm planning on drawing up a little map, but it might have to wait a while (it's back to school this week!)
Cheers,
Howie

Amazing

After looking at those those pictures, I have come to the conclusion that the Peruvian Andes (and to be more specific, the Cordillera Huayhuash) might be the most spectacular mountains I have ever seen.

Awesome

After looking at your wonderful pictures of these great mountains I'm quite keen to visit this place sometimes by myself. Very inspiring.

Re: Great TR

Thanks dadndave! Sadly, the travel party is about to end ... I started my teaching job this week. But I still get summer vacations!

I'll let Sonya know she has a rival ;)

nice

I've always wanted to do this trek, and now I still want to do it even more! I went to Huaraz and the Cordillera Blanca back in 1998 and it completely changed my life, and I imagine the Huayhuash would do the same. Plus, that trip cured me of my desires to climb big, snowy peaks, and invigorated my desire to do some real trekking, like you did. Nice job!

Re: nice

Thanks Mark - the trekking in the Huayhuash is great - not too hard, not too high, but spectacular.
Thanks again,
Howie

Lucky you!

What an amazing trip. I hope to go to Peru in the near future, and now it will be a little harder to wait!

What a beauty !

Reading your words and seeing your pictures make us think strongly about going there, when we are in South America next year.
Any chance you can provide a map of your trek to give a rough idea of the trip and places where you slept, etc ?

Again thank you for this beautiful description.
