Re: i can't believe
I cracked up too. But they must need to create a sense of contrast every once in a while. "See, here's what average, little posers are up to." If you keep sticking too much epicness on the front page, you never quite gauge just how epic epic is.
Ok...was this some sort of sacrifice to the snow gods so they'd give you snow?

Re: Pushing a bolder over a cliff?
Exactly, and now Tahoe's being dumped on, so it must have worked! Lol, though maybe we'd have gotten it sooner if we'd thrown some wine over the cliff.
That looks like the chute/drainage from Sam Mack. I climbed that because I was too lame/uninterested to follow the Palisade Glacier trail sign to the east (or left of photo).

Re: Fun Chute
That sounds right... I remember seeing a trail sign too, but the trail route didn't look as appetizing.

Loved the TR. Bummer you didn't really get any good skiing in. But ya know... if you keep "carrying a multi-day overnight pack with mountaineering gear", you won't be able to call yourself Fat Kids anymore. (Wait, not that I'm saying your fat! Oh damn... THIS is a slippery slope I've gotten myself onto now!) Anyway, fun read. Thanks for posting.

Ain't skiing the Palisades great? Sh-h-h-h-h...Don't tell anyone our little secret. BTW, did you know that "SNOWBOARD" is an old Norwegian word for "CAN'T SKI?" (: Great pics.
