Trona Pinnacles!

This place is near and dear to my heart and yet I've never been there. However, I'm a huge science fiction fan and the Trona Pinnacles have served as alien landscapes throughout motion picture history. They were first seen in the early episodes of Lost In Space. They showed up again in Star Trek V: The Final Frontier. They appeared in the amazing animated tale "Dinosaur" and also were featured at the final scenes of Planet of the Apes (the remake by Tim Burton). Some day, I'll get to visit this spot. Thanks for posting this great picture, as it really stirred up the memory pot!

	Hasn't voted	I discovered this surrealistic, beautiful landscape on SR178 traveling from Mojave, CA to Death Valley. I didn't see the movies yet, but I can easy imagine this exceptional, strange looking scenery as a background for a SF film. I'm happy you like it.
