Tunnel Canyon

What a surprise

Although not technically in the Manzano Mountains, this trail can be found off NM 337 on the way to the Manzano range. It is widely used for biking,and hikers need to be aware of their existence. But we really enjoyed this as a hike. It has some surprisingly beautiful vistas and good trails. Parking is limited and it is a fee area ($3). Even on the hottest summer day it afforded a great deal of shady spots. I would say it is a moderate hike, with some steep inclines.
