At the foot of Mt BlitzenIn the summer of 1974, I lived in the small one room stone cabin in the center of this photo, and worked for a mining exploration company out of Vancouver BC. My job consisted of hiking in the Independence Mountains and filling small envelopes ful of dirt, and there are few areas around Tuscarora I did not hike.
You can still see the small outhouse behind the cabin, that was erected over an abandoned mine shaft, and it was my habit to time the fall distance, if you get my drift... To this day, it was, by far, the best job I ever had!
