It is! We did the CMC Route. I will sign the log! Let me know if you need a trad partner for it. Will be going back!

Re: Hey...

How was the CMC Route? It looked like it swallowed big pro, and we didn't have much with us that day... Ended up doing Twin Cracks over on the 1st buttress on Saturday instead. Nice route on a really aesthetic line.

Re: Hey...

Hey! We passed by you guys on Saturday while were on the approach. I belive we were the only 2 parties up on any of the formations. We had pro to 3.5 and that was sufficient. You could even get away with pro to 2". The climbing is not difficult and the gear is abundant. There were 2 sections that you may want to be solid on 5.6 and 5.7 but they were very short, maybe 15'20'each. You can get gear in all over the place on the route. The wide crack is actually a chimney with lots of opportunity for placing smaller gear throughout. Give it a shot. There is a wide crack at the start of P3 I believe. That was my partner's pitch. I think he just ran it out but if you have a 3.5 or a 4, you can easily protect it. The rock is fantatic! Go for it!

Re: Hey...

Thanks for the info. From below it almost looked off-width (shudder...) rather than a chimney. I might have to head up there this week! I live at the base of Thorodin, and have been eyeing that route for a while now.

There were 2 other guys on the 5.5 route on the 1st buttress, but they were up and off pretty early. We had the 1st to ourselves pretty much the whole day. We kind of just played around for a little while on some lower .5 - .6 slabs, then headed up twin cracks. A really fun route. The scenery was great, too!
