you are testing for avi's that day, that looks disconcerning..... did you ski it?

No, we didn't ski here. This was part of an AIARE level I class and we were just digging pits. These two windslabs were buried about 20cm beneath the snow from a more recent storm. This formed the weaklayer that failed as I was sawing out a block for a compression test. Definite red flag and very disconcerting indeed!
