What time of year was this?Photo taken? I like the desert/pine forest/snow contrast. BTW- I should officially tell you not to go ski up there. There's private property and crappy exposure, long miles. But I do think it's wicked cool.

ride the swanI think I took that one early winter, first couple weeks in December if I remember right. I do realize its not the most accessible place to make a couple turns, and I am taking a big risk if I try, both getting in and out, but something about that patch has been calling me for years. Your story both frightened and inspired me and only time will tell if I take that swan ride one winter. Thanks for the trail info too!
