Hasn't voted | This was taken from the side of Big Sandy Peak in Wyoming's Wind River Range. You've been to some extraordinary places, and it's good to see an "Easterner" with the same passions. If you haven't been to the Winds, give it some strong considerations. Great, great place! | | Posted Aug 23, 2010 11:57 pm |

Voted 10/10 | The Winds for sure. I'm biding my time until my next opportunity to reach more extraordinary places. | | Posted Aug 25, 2010 9:40 pm |

Hasn't voted | sorry it took so long to reply. have you made it there yet? the big sandy campground can get crowded, but this is an unreal alpine area. truly, truly is. rivals any national park. | | Posted Jan 18, 2013 4:00 pm |
| slowbutsteady | Love the Winds | |
Voted 10/10 | Great image with (I believe ) Haystack Mt. right behind you. I camped at Big Sandy Lake and hiked Mitchell back in 1994. I have memories of the many marmots around Big Sandy Lake with Big Sandy Peak looming overhead. Thanks for posting. Big Sandy entrance into the Winds has become very popular and the bears love the area too. Regards | | Posted May 8, 2011 6:36 pm |
