Mount Sill rises up behind...

Mount Sill rises up behind the night darkened lesser mountains and the stars travel a little across this few minutes in time. It was a perfectly clear night - could that be the Aurora Borealis up there? Photo by Richard Gabrielson

Aurora Borealis

Just thought you might want to know the streaks across your photo are most likey not clouds but Aurora Borealis which can be very faint but will show up in a long exposure.

Re: Aurora Borealis

Hi JScoles (is it John or Jeff?) Thanks for the heads up on my Mount Sill photo possibly showing the Aurora Borealis. I have often thought that it looked like the Northern Lights but thought we were too far south to see them.

I saw your page. You have an awsome climbing history. I would love to climb the Matterhorn. Someday, I hope.

Thanks again, Richard Gabrielson

Sill is not in this photo

That's some subpeak to the right with Norman Clyde way up in the back.
