View down from top of Black...

View down from top of Black Tower on Epinephrine. This is meant in assisting with orienting oneself on approach to various formations comprising Black Velvet Peak. Dirt road and trailhead shown in red line. Yellow lines indicate trails and climbers' trails. Base of Epinephrine itself is out of the photo - two trails leading down in the photo take you to Epinephrine ~200 yards beyond photo (going through the waterfall is 5.easy; alternatively going via indicated slabs is class 3-4). Also indicated are Whiskey Peak - a subsidiary buttress of Black Velvet Peak - and Black Velvet Wall which is home to classics such as Prince of Darkness, Dream of Wild Turkeys, etc... Characteristic huge boulder at base of BVW is also indicated as is the start of Refried Brains. Note that the indicated descent from Whiskey Peak originates at the Whiseky Peak - Black Velvet Peak Col (follows a class 3 gully not in photo). It's probably possible to reach this Col also (from opposite side) directly from base of Refried Brains via 4th class gully (not sure though). Lastly note that most (all?) climbs on Whiseky Peak lying to the right (climber's right) of Frogland are accessed via the indicated Triassic Sands approach. Only visible portion of the descent route from summit of Black Velvet Peak is the "Whiskey Peak Descent" trail - rest of it lies way out of the photo on the right.

Wow!

That is a monster of a caption! Probably one of the most loaded photos I've seen in a while.
