I just had to climb this hill in immediate proximity to the 169 which travels from the Lake St John region on towards Quebec city. While the path to the top is fairly easy, the hill being on the site of an ex militairy base, the fact of proceeding for what seems like so many miles on the dirt road is somewhat frustrating. Mind you that a picnic table at the top symbolically concretises the rewarding experience...The scenery in the vicinity of this part of the Laurentians tends to be more dramatic typical examples being the high gorges of the Malbaie river, the Jacques Cartier valley area and what appears as interesting mountain scenery east of the hamlet of Lynton (which is north of the town of Riviere a Pierre ) just to name a few examples
