View north from the upper Glacier de Vouasson

I'm high up on the glacier, at around 3250m. Just outside the picture on the right lies Mont de l'Etoile. The nearest visible summit here is Pic d'Artsinol (2998m) 5 km away, left of center. As is obvious from these tracks, people are skiing down this glacier. In good conditions (and they were at the time), you can ski down to the road at the village of Lana, around 1400 m. That's the better part of 2000 m! 10 March 2014.
