View up Alcalican Valley from...

View up Alcalican Valley from our campsite in the morning after a night of a little rain and a dash of fresh snow at higher elevations (~14,000'). I would strongly advise to not camp in Alcalican Valley. While it is a beautiful valley, it is somewhat of a delta of mountain springs and streams. Much of it is marshy, and what is not is covered with high tundra. We looked the day before for a good while for a good camp spot. We found what i think is probably the best place for a tent in that whole valley, and we were squished bewteeen a marsh a few feet away on one side, and a high tundra line on the other.
