Kim races down through the trees on our backcountry trip to the northeast bowl of Mt. Tallac. Around the "molar-shaped flat" at 7400', the bowl pinches down into a narrow chute with many ski tracks. On this day, the shadows were terribly icy, while the open slopes were a slushy nightmare.
