A view of the huge southwest...
A view of the huge southwest face of Peak V. This is the face that is visible from the Pitkin Lake area and often photographed. This photo was taken at 6:30am facing due east with sun beaming straight into our eyes. The south ridge is obvious, and is the route mentiones until you get to within 400-ft of the summit. The scrambling here is class 3 and maybe a class 4 move or two. It is more exposed that the east face of Peak V.
