Re: so remoteSurprisingly, one is most definitely not alone there during high season. We met more S. African climbers there than I knew existed, & the Austrian Hut is the base for trekkers attempting Pt. Lenana as well, so the whole area actually gets a good amount of traffic.
Despite this, though (& the fact that there were 2 other parties on the route the same day we were), we really did have solitude on the mountain for most of the day.

ExposureI also remember this pitch as being quite gripping!
You cross over the ridge, look down a yawning amphitheater/couloir and then proceed with a delicate traverse across to the other side. Technically it's not too difficult, but you definitely don't want to come off!
