Krn from the west [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Krn from the west
Krn massif from the west, from near Kobarid. This is the 'parade side' of this beautiful mountain. The summit of Krn is on the right. Over the wall below it a nice ferrata goes and also some rock climbs. The massive and still rocky mountain in the centre is Krncica. Just on top of its ridge you can scramble and hike, using the rests of old, abandoned military paths (from the WW1). More towards the left there's Vrata pass, and the ridge beyond it continues still further. February, 2006.
