Typical "Boilerplate" slab on the Cottonwood Lake approach.

Slabs like this are referred to as the "boiler plate" slabs along the approach along Cottonwood Creek. While not difficult, if they have a bit of water or verglas on them, they can be quite challenging.

decending these after a night of snow was not fun. My dad was able to do it standing. I had to scoot my way down!
