Highlands of Folgaria and Lavarone.
At the beginning of the 20th century here was built a big belt of forts, positions, trenches and observation posts that made almost impassable the frontier.
The most known are Forte Dosso del Sommo, Forte Sommo Alto, Forte Cherle, Forte Belvedere, Forte Luserna, Forte Verle, Forte Pizzo di Vezzena, Forte Campomolon, Forte Verena.
Nowadays forts and ruins mey still be visited along the Sentiero della Pace (peace path): the path goes crossing the whole Trentino just on the border line where "alpini" and "kaiserjeager used to face each other
La zona degli altipiani di Folgaria, Lavarone, Valle di Terragnolo, Valsugana, Val d'Astico rappresenta un'area di confine tra le province di Trento e Vicenza e coincideva con la Frontiera tra l'Impero Austro Ungarico e il regno d'Italia nel 1866-1918.
.Già all'inizio del secolo fu costruita un'imponente cintura di forti, postazioni, trincee ed osservatori che rendevano pressochè invalicabile questo confine.
Tra i più noti: Forte Dosso del Sommo, Forte Sommo Alto, Forte Cherle, Forte Belvedere, Forte Luserna, Forte Verle, Forte Pizzo di Vezzena, Forte Campomolon,Forte Verena.
Oggi, ruderi ed alcuni forti ancora visitabili, sono toccati dal Sentiero della Pace, l'itinerario che attraversa l'intero Trentino ricalcando la linea di fronte lungo la quale si fronteggiarono alpini e kaiserjaeger.
