Re: Yeowie! Thanks Deb, looks worse than it is...like all climbs, when you break it down into parts, it mellows some....cheers

Wow X Eeek!Thanks for posting.
Any chance you shot anything "closer" of the "snow stratigraphy"?
I'm sure you had nothing else on your mind...

Re: Wow X Eeek!Your right Don, just wanted to reach the summit at this point. But I agree, one of the neater formations I have seen. My best shot of it is this one. Unique deal was a very deep crevase right at the summit, where one would suspect there to be rock, was a huge hole. Would be so easy for some unsuspecting scrambler coming up the southwest ridge to fall into it. I think I have read where that happened, but Alpine accident reports website is down right now. Cheers.

Re: Amazing patterns/formation!Thanks Radek, hope you are having a great season. Weather up north has been exceptional for climbing, prob not good for global warming....cheers

Protection for summit ridgeAny recommendations as to protection for the summit ridge? Not familiar with the area and when pickets v screws would be appropriate!

conditionsethanturan, gear recommendation would be solely dependent on conditions and I have no idea of current conditions. This photo is over ten years old. We placed no gear on the ridge ourselves on this particular trip, but are both experienced alpinists. Good luck.
