Super shot!

Great action captured on this one with amazing scenery in the background. The whole set of Kanjavec shots is great Vid. When I see shots such as this I really go crazy because I still can't ski. What am I missing!!!

Re: Super shot!

Sasa, It's just a matter of decision. You'd love it. If you study in Zagreb, try it there. For mountain skiing you don't need any expertise. Aesthetic doesn't matter, it's important just to get down. Imagine ascending Velebit peaks with light rucksack, with skis on feet, no snow is too deep, and after reaching the summit you just slide softly down. Eh, not everything is so nice, but in principle it is.

Re: Super shot!

You are right Vid. Well, I made the decision long time ago and I know I would love it. I dreamed about it many times and have a feeling that this is something I would be good at. I imagine skiing on Velebit all the time. It is just that money always goes for something more important at that moment, more than skiing equipment. I'll have to set it as priority soon.

Re: Super shot!

In the beginning of each winter season we have here ski fairs, where old equipment is sold. You need just that. But it's more important to learn skiing on some prepared terrain, with cable cars. You need some 3 days or a week to start enjoying. That costs, it's true. Then you just start walking up the mountains, first the easy ones, than harder slopes. I'm glad you're thinking of it. And it can help you very much in high Alps after a few years. I know you will go to Wallis, Bernina, Mont Blanc, Bern Alps etc. again! In June it's just fun to do it with skis. No crevasses, you walk up with skis and you're quickly down. So much, just to help you with the decision. I can imagine how you feel down there by the Adriatic sea, he, he! If someone would try that hard to convince me to start scuba diving I'd consider him crazy.

Re: Super shot!

hehe, I don't consider you crazy because I was never fond of sea that much. I love to swim when is hot and that's it. Mountains are my LOVE and I discovered that at the age of 5. I wanted to ask you how essential do you think is to go to ski school. Is it possible to learn it the proper way only by yourself, starting of course with few meter slopes to see the feeling and increase with time? I think if I have to wait to go to ski school in some resort it will post pond things too much and I already feel I lost too much time waiting.
