Echo Rock-- Start of Downstream Traverse [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Echo Rock-- Start of Downstream Traverse
The river is very close to the rocks here (it is visible at lower left, actually). The route down was via the short gully-like drop on the right. The rock was very smooth and slippery, and though the descent was just Class 3, great care was necessary. This traverse (this view faces downstream; the traverse I did headed upstream) would not be possible under normal conditions, but drought conditions the last several months had lowered water levels dramatically.
