The route to camp 2 from camp... [ Sizes: Orig | Small | Thumb ]
The route to camp 2 from camp...
The route to camp 2 from camp 1 is a long series of switchbacks. The trail is pretty evident and gentle, but the altitude starts to kick in at this stage. Once you reach the top of the col (half way) you will be hit with the winds from Chile. It is a long day 4.5 to 7 hours depending on how you are acclimitizing. You go from 16,300 ft. to 19,200 ft. (45 minutes back down to camp 1) December 2001. Photo Laurie Skreslet
