185 miles of John Muir Trail

Charybdis took me on a wonderful journey of endurance and beauty through 185 miles of the John Muir Trail in August of 2010. She was great company and I often reflect on the trip as one of the best experiences of my life. She is a ten time veteran and gave me the best possible time. I won't kid myself that it was easy. I've never had such chronic foot pain. But the variety of beauty I have seen here is unparalleled anywhere else. This album is my feeble attempt to photograph some of it. I might have been a bit hasty in putting almost all the pictures up. I will still post a trip report but these pictures might be stale by that point. I like the Evolution Basin area going up to Muir Pass and down to below Darwin Bench in particular. Thanks Charybdis for making this more than a dream.
