In Lower Silesia, winter temperatures were already noted at the end of November. They were below -10oC. The first days of December were twice frosty. In December 30, I decided to hike in the Ślęża Massif. It was after heavy snowfall. Weather forecast announced a frosty and sunny day. At a northern slope I was before sunrise, 7:00 AM. I waited for the sun. It was possible to take only twelve pictures of sunrise because of hard frost penetrating my hands. I hiked along a red trail called “Droga Ślężan”, on the northern slope of the mountain. Crowns of larches, beeches, pines and spruces were covered by snow and ice. They glittered like diamonds in sunshine. Snow canopy on trees unfolded beautiful blue of the sky before me. Winter scenery seen from the summit was fascinating!!!
I went toward a rocky summit nearby St. Ann’s church. The summit was covered by ice. The air was completely clear and all the Sudety Mountains were visible in the distance - Góry Izerskie from the west, through Karkonosze with Śnieżka, up to Śnieżnik Massif in the east. I have got full mountain satisfaction at the end of the passing year :-)

It will be continued...
