It takes 5h to reach Pelister (2601m) via the ridge route from Kopanki hut. Of those 5h 4.20h is pure bouldering. Marks lead via the ridge all the time, up the northern slopes of Baba massif which are strewn with colorful granite boulders that lie one over another without any kind of order, like they were thrown from the airplane. These, so called, stone rivers were created during the Ice Ages. Photo was taken some 40mins above Kopanki Hut. Marks head towards that rocky head up on the ridge. It is 2.20h away from this point. Behind it is still 2h to Pelister.

Hasn't voted | I though too Vid! I was really surprised to see these granite blocks. In Retezat group (Carpathians, Romania) and High Tatra (Slovakia) it's similar like this but I never thought Macedonia has it too. These are old mountains. And just across Prespansko Ezero is Galicica mountain which is made of limestone. | | Posted Sep 16, 2004 7:51 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I was passing by there two times. First in gymnasium - from that trip I remember other things, but also Ohrid and surroundings. The second one was a business trip, where we crossed Galicica in a beautiful weather. There's a really nice view and I also have a decent picture of it. | | Posted Sep 17, 2004 7:31 am |

Hasn't voted | Why don't you post it? I'd like to see it, or you can send me via the e-mail. | | Posted Sep 17, 2004 9:33 am |

Voted 10/10 | Now I see that I was wrong. I have a picture of Prespansko Jezero (you have it on the CD I sent you), but the one from Galicica was obviously not good enough to be scanned. But I remember it - a flower and the lake below :-) | | Posted Sep 17, 2004 2:57 pm |
