A perfect day for a first time

By the end of August 2009 I traveled to Bolivia.

After a few days of sightseeing and acclimatization, the plan was to climb Pequeño Alpamayo. It would be my first alpine climb in South America, and it turned out to be a perfect day for it.

I was glad to have a guide who knew the mountain well, for otherwise we could have wasted a lot of time to negotiate a safe way over the glacier. Going up, I hardly saw the many crevasses, but going down was a different matter!

Parents refers to a larger category under which an object falls. For example, theAconcagua mountain page has the 'Aconcagua Group' and the 'Seven Summits' asparents and is a parent itself to many routes, photos, and Trip Reports.
