High Traverse Route

The High Traverse Route to Snow Moon Basin is, like many off-trail routes in Glacier, challenging to discern from a distance. Many of the goat trails that Gordon Edwards so enthusiastically describes in his guide are not fully recognized until you are able to see the subtle breaks up close. The red "X" is this diagram marks the spot where the fabulous game trail begins its course amongst towering cliffs as it hooks around Allen Mountain. Click here for the original photograph.
