USGS quads

It would be helpful if you could note the relevant USGS 7.5-minute quads in the article: Forest Falls and San Gorgonio Mountain.

Getting there

I got tripped up on your directions to the trailhead. Forest Falls Road is actually Valley of the Falls Blvd. I continued up Hwy 38 that banked left until I was passed the 14 mi your directions indicated. I did have the Forest Service map so realized what had happened. I don't know if they changed the name of the road but it is now Valley of the Falls Blvd. Kind of tricky there unless you know where you are going. Thanks for all of your great info!

Re: Getting there

I have changed it. Hope it didn't mess you up too much.

Parking Lot to Trailhead

Does anyone know what the mileage from the parking lot to the actual trailhead is?

Vivian Creek hike 7-8-2014

Hiked Old Greyback via Vivian Creek trail head. Very nice hike, I recommend it. Trail is good generally. We found easily gotten water at Vivian Creek camping spot about 1200 feet up, where the trail crossed the small stream. More importantly, we found easily gotten water near High Creek about half-way up the mountain where trail crosses stream at about 9200 feet; however, this tiny stream might go dry later in the summer. Note that the last two years have been very dry in this area. About 67 degrees at trail head at 7 AM.
