Grateful  Sucess!

2017 - w/Ben Darce, Ryan Stadheim

Paired with Trapper Peak. What a magnificent area! Grateful for the good company, weather, and opportunities for learning and growth that this trip provided.

Vulture Peak South Summit  Sucess!

Climbed with Bill. Our approach and exit was from Fifty Mountain. Camped at Gyrfalcon Lake. Followed route described by Dick Mattson in the Climbers Guide to Glacier National Park by J. Gordon Edwards.

Upon reaching the summit discovered original register left by Dick Riemann and Don Eberlie on July 27, 1958 in a metal Band Aid box. That register was also signed by Dick Mattson and Wyatt Woodsmall on July 25, 1980. Ours was apparently the third ascent of this summit.

On this trip we also climbed:
Trapper Peak 7,702 ft.
Mount Geduhn 8,375 ft.

Vulture Peak  Sucess!

Climbed with Bill during a traverse from Brown Pass. Exited via the old Waterton River trail back to Goat Haunt. Found the description of Vulture in Edwards book fairly accurate. Other peaks climbed on this trip were:
The Guardhouse 9,336 ft.
Nahsukin 8,194 ft.
Redhorn 8,128 ft.

Vulture  Sucess!

I'd wanted to climb this mountain for years before finally having a chance to this summer. I'm lucky enough to have friends who have spent substantial time in this area. As some of Edward's info is wrong or out of date, I thought I'd pass on the newer route info!
