Watchtower from the northwest

This view is from summit 10,600' about one mile to the northwest of the Watchtower. During August 1-10, 2009, our party climbed several routes to the northern summit (on the left) via the faces below. We also visited the middle and the southern (highest) summits. We found no evidence of previous climbers on the routes or the north summit and had to leave a rappel anchor to get off the north summit. We did find an old military type piton in the north summit but it was not where a climber would place protection. We also found a pilot’s rescue beacon on a ledge about 2/3 up. For now, we are guessing the piton was an anchor used as part of a rescue operation.
