Wavy-leaved Paintbrush (Castilleja applegatei)
Castilleja applegatei is common in rangelands and on high mountain slopes from central Idaho, across Oregon to the Cascades and south to California and Nevada. It is distinguished from other red/orange species by the wavy leaf margins. Photo is from central Oregon. April 2004
