Fall scenery was good but the colors hadn't reached their peak yet. Cool rock formations tower over the trail. The peak itself is a boring bump, but its a worthy hike.
Route Climbed: Mill Creek Route Date Climbed: July 2, 2003
This was a lovely hike. I can't imagine a more idylic valley then that of Mill Creek. Two days before this I hiked up the more popular Snowmass Creek yet I found this drainage much more profound. The Castles are everything you could imagine. My photos do not give them justice. If I was smart I would have arainged things so I was at Storm Pass at either the early morning or at dusk to get light that better illuminates those serene pinnacles... Whatever the case I had fune here... And after my 18.5 mile hike I kicked back with a bottle of Hornitos to get rather pickled.
