Western San Juans

Western San Juans

Jewel of the San Juans. Photo taken on August 27, 2009 from my glider, while at around 17,000'. It was a spectacular day for aerial photography. Took about 250 photos that afternoon, as we flew several hundred miles back and forth, up and down the San Juans. I hiked up to the lake and pass above it a few days later, but clouds prevented good photography, and rain moving in shortened the day. I'll spend a few days (with no cloudy weather in the forecast!)in the area this coming summer. Looking closely at many of the photos, I get a pretty good idea of routes to hike.

cool shot! Why not clean up the lower caption? (Bold text here) Maybe tell us more info like the elevation you were at? Cheers! ND

Re: This is a really

Thanks for your positive comment. I have made your suggested changes.

I just stumbled upon this web site while looking for more info on Vermilion Peak, and came across a hazy photo of it, and figured I'd share a few of my shots. As you can see, I had a few problems early on, ending up posting the same shots several times. Do you know how to delete photos from a page? I think it would be appropriate for me to do so, so as to not have duplicates / triplicates.

I am looking forward to spending more time browsing the site, getting ideas from others of routes up areas I have yet to get to.

Above the picture in the yellow edit options on the far right is "delete this page".

Gliderman,

Welcome to SP! Your aerial photos are a nice addition to the site. I encourage you to attach your photos to the appropriate page(s). This way, they become more useful to other users and become part of the SP "fabric."

Give me a shout (send me a PM) if you have any questions about posting items, attaching items, navigating the site, etc.

Sarah
