Re: Has the summit....

The summit was clearcut within the past few years. In fact, active logging still occurs on the mountain slopes. Currently, the summit is comprised of leftover stumps and young fir trees (about 3'-6' tall each). The clearcut summit can be seen from a distance, at certain angles and elevations. A small stand of trees currently remains on the northwest corner of the summit hill. Still-forested Stewart Mountain (3050') to the north and still-forested Point 2938' to the south can obstruct views of the clearcut summit, as can the many mounds and hills on the massif slopes. On the standard approach (from the northwest), the summit hill cannot even be seen until at least the final 1/3 of the trek.
