We climbed in. It was silent and you felt the heaviness of the glacier surrounding you. We were scared...and we wondered if it was safe. There was the feeling that at any point the whole thing could come falling down onto your head. It is cold - but I remember not wanting to leave. The light penetrates the ice and the hues of blue seemingly glow all on their own. It is beautiful - made even more special when you realize how few people will do this - or ever have.
