While cairns are nice on the way up to Lafayette, there really are none along the ridge itself since: (1) supposedly it's hard to get lost on the ridge and (2) many parts of the trail are lined with rocks on both sides. With 30-120 feet of visilibility on the ridge, it was nice to run into the signs for the Falling Waters Trail since the trail drops into the trees almost immediately from these signs.
