White-lipped Banded Snail

White-lipped Banded Snail (Capaea hortensis) is a species from the Family Helicidae. Its shell is about 18-21 milimeters in diameter. The color of the shell can vary. This snail can be found in all Polish forests. It is nocturnal, but can be active during the day after rain. It feeds on grass and low growing vegetation. White-lipped Banded Snail can climb trees even up to 4 meters off the ground. Its main enemies are birds, especially fieldfares and ring ouzels.
