SolinaDoes the name "Solina" has any connection with "salt"?

Re: SolinaSolina is the name of the village. The name comes form the salty springs that were found in this region. Salt used to be extracted from there springs for commercial purposes. One of the rivers here is also called Solinka. The oldest document in which the name of the village was mentioned comes from the year 1436.

Re: SolinaExhaustive explanation. Thank you.
Next Tuesday I visit your beautiful country. Unfortunately only Krakow, and only for business. Not the nice countryside south or south-east to it :(
Just I realize which lake it is. I was there in a camping at the lake-side with my wife and with 2 friends for a night in 1999!
