Got a paid cat skiing trip on Windy Peak and the steep drainage due west of Windy Peak last Monday. It inspired me to get into the Uintas a little earlier than normal (typically wait for HWY 150 to open).

So I went up to the Smith and Morehouse area with my backcountry ski partners on Friday. The approach was long, the run was good and by suprize our exit felt just like the approach. It felt like it was uphill both ways.

It is a beautiful mountain range......cold, quiet, vast and desolate.

Yeah, and the same clerk has been there at the Mountain View Maverick every single time.
