I always found climbing on Wolf Rock to be kind of scary. Anyway, for those who might be looking for new areas to climb in Oregon you might check the area north of Hwy 58 a dozen or so miles east of Oakridge.....in the area of The Warner Creek fire. Also to the south east of the upper end of Hills Creek Reservoir there is a road up Coal Creek that drops over into the N. Fork of the Umpqua. Several Menagerie type areas to be explored. Also up the S. Fork of the Umpqua maybe 30-40 miles east of Roseburg. I was there dropping water on a fire. Several really nice looking rocks around. Lots of roads too. NE of Paisley, OR there is a rim that runs to about a mile in length, one pitch high, an open book or a crack every 30-40 feet for almost the whole width. There are two-tracks off the highway leading up to the base....if you have binoculars you can spot it from just outside town headed SE. There is whole 'nuther Smith Rock east of Madras but it might be on private ground. Have fun everyone.
