Working up to the traverse, #1

Working up to the traverse, #1

The kind of terrain necessary to work through, so as to reach the traverse, which begins approximately a thousand feet above the pass. The scree and rubble accounts for about three-fourths of that elevation gain, and is the kind of climbing where it is absolutely necessary you know where your partners are at all times, as rock fall is a real hazard.
