"I thought this was the best side of the creek...." The bedrock in this area (the middle of the gorge) is granite of the Goddard pendant. The peak in the distance (Three Sirens and Scylla) is metavolcanic. The ridges above the gorge and all the talus fields above are also metavolcanic.
