The return of the Tim! Very nice work as always, I enjoyed reading it! I would like to hear how Mexicans pronounce this name?! :-) Are we going to taste more fruits from your fertile vacation Tim? :-)

name of peak?

hi great report!

one question: are you sure you have the name of this peak right? sometimes common usage changes spellings but i think you are at least missing an "i". Yolotli is the nahuatl word for heart, and xochitl the word for flower. Putting them together should produce Yoloxochitl. Perhaps the local dialect turned it to Yeloxochitl, but I don't even think it is pronouncible as "Yeloxochtl"???

Re: name of peak?

The name comes from the only topo. map I've ever heard made of the area. A friend of mine who lives in Texcoco and has been climbing Tlaloc and Telapon for most of his life got it some years ago and though I've never specifically asked him if the name is correct I'm pretty sure I copied it verbatim.
As far as I know I'm going back in march and will undoubtedly make a sojourn up to the area so I'll double check it then.

You're right as far as pronunciation goes... no one I showed it to could make anything more than a guess as to how it is pronounced.

Thanks for your interest in my Mexican pages I appreciate it.

Cheers -Tim-
