Nice report!

Out of curiosity, how much did your pack weigh when you started the trip? I bought a couple of down throws that I velcroed together to form a long quilt. It's really warm and very light. I've been thinking of using it as an UL option to a bag.

Hi Bob, thanks for your comments! I like the idea of attaching the down throws together to make a quilt. Using a quilt took some getting used to, but now it feels like the only way to go.

My base weight was about 7 1/5 lbs with a Bearikade Weekender canister. With food for 4 days and an average of 1/2 liter of water carried my pack weighed 14 1/2 lbs on day one.
