Re: Wonderful

Thank you Michael! Well, who knows...in general I think that mountain is a big deal from any route. My feeling is that I'd definitely like to traverse, though I'd be happy with the easiest possible traverse :p...probably not the Schaligrat! :D

Re: Wonderful

I did the Ostgrat normal route when I was 40 years old ;-) and it was the most impressive mountain of the Alps I set foot on. No wonder the Valais people are calling Weißhorn, not the Matterhorn, the king of Valais mountain.

This mountain showed me clearly my limits in mountaineering - so for the Nordgrat - Ostgrat traverse (I once gave that a thought for a while) I would clearly need a mountain guide or - as I will do for the sake of my wallet - will be completely happy with less difficult summits in the Wallis - Zinalrothorn still among them.

With that in mind I enjoyed your TR about Arbengrat and Zinalrothorn very much. And Michael: carpe diem; I had a closer look at my hut mates this year in Wallis and - being 50 years old now - I was among the oldest lot up there. But still I´m scrambling :-) Ackerlspitze tomorrow. Cheers Michael
